Thirsty Monk releases CocoNorm brew

With Christmas just days away, Asheville's Thirsty Monk pubs and brewery are bringing out some early treats including the return of a popular house beer.

CocoNorm, a coconut porter from brewer Norm Penn, will be released Monday night at all three Monks: Biltmore Park, Reynolds Village and the original downtown location at the corner of Coxe and Patton Avenue. The brew has classic porter notes with toasted organic coconut. The Monks will be giving away special glassware with the release.

On Christmas Eve, the Monks will have their usual Pint Night deals with glassware giveaways. The downtown Monk features Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout and Barleywine Ale. Biltmore Park features Left Hand Brewing and Reynolds Village has Blowing Rock Brewing.

The Monk pubs will all be closed on Christmas Day.
