Friday is Ice Cream Sandwich night at The Hop Ice Creamery. It's a joint collaboration with Hole, the doughnut shop, across the street.

Hole brings the doughnuts while The Hop supplies the ice cream.

Hole will be serving plain doughnuts, but to find out what flavors The Hop will be serving, check its Facebook page and Twitter account @HopIceCreamery later this week.

Sandwiches will be sold from 6-9 p.m. at the creamery, 167 Haywood Road in West Asheville.

Hole sells three doughnut flavors a week. This week customers can pick from a vanilla glaze, cocoa rub or a toasted almond with cinnamon and sesame seeds. Next week, a coconut lime glaze doughnut will be on tap.

Hole is open 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday-Monday.

The Citizen-Times went behind the counter with Hole to see how they make their doughnuts.
