SC man faces bigamy charge in Asheville

ASHEVILLE – A South Carolina man is behind bars in Asheville on a felony bigamy charge.

Michael Dean Duncan, 32, of Ladson, S.C., was charged Monday with the offense, according to a warrant at the Buncombe County magistrate’s office.

Duncan is accused of marrying a Moncks Corner, S.C. woman while still being married to another woman, according to the warrant.

He was charged locally because Asheville was the site of the second marriage. The new wife brought the complaint, and Buncombe sheriff’s officers investigated, according to the warrant.

Duncan is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $5,000 secured bond.
