Cops: Teen embezzled $7,000-plus from Asheville restaurant

ASHEVILLE – A city teen is facing an embezzlement charge after police say he stole more than $7,000 in cash from the Twisted Crepe restaurant in the downtown.

Jonathan Josue Sevilla Alvarado, 19, of Little Forest Drive, was charged with the offense Wednesday, according to a warrant at the Buncombe County magistrate’s office.

Alvarado is accused of embezzling $7,458 from the restaurant, according to the warrant. Asheville police investigated.

Alvarado was released under a $5,000 unsecured bond.
