Sometimes, holidays collide and there’s almost too much going on.

Of course Easter events take center stage over the weekend.

On April 19, there are so very many options for Easter fun. Dillsboro hosts its annual Easter Hat Parade, with registration starting at 11 a.m. and the parade at 2 p.m. If you don’t have a hat, visit Dogwood Crafters starting at 10:30 a.m. to make one. Visit dillsboronc.info. Also out west, Lake Junaluska hosts quite a packed weekend, with a 5K run/walk and half-mile fun run, egg decorating, egg hunts and more. Visit lakejunaluska.com or call 800-222-4930.

Asheville Downtown Association hosts its Easter on the Green celebration 2-5 p.m. at Pack Square Park. There will be egg hunts (divided by age), a giant slide, inflatables and more. Visit ashevilledowntown.org.

And Henderson County Parks and Recreation hosts its egg hunt, with music, prizes, the Easter Bunny, inflatables and food. It’s noon-2 p.m. at Jackson Park, Hendersonville. Call 697-4884.

On Easter Sunday, Biltmore hosts an egg hunt on Asheville’s biggest front yard. The hunts — yes, there’s more than one — are for ages 2-9 and start at 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m.. Registration starts two hours prior. And there’s more than just eggs to the annual festivities. Music and stories start at 9:45 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., and magic shows at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Get pictures with the Easter Rabbit from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. You’ll need to bring your own basket. For more information, call 800-411-3812 or 225-1333, www.biltmore.com.

The side show to Easter this weekend is Earth Day, which falls on April 22.

Asheville’s Earth Day celebration is April 19, with a party on Lexington Avenue in downtown. The party runs noon-10 p.m. and includes a kids’ zone, along with craft vendors, an eco village and live music. Visit avlearthday.org.
